Groundhog Day...

So I wake up this morning and it is sleeting again and school is closed. Of course the girls are up at the crack of dawn, hungry, and thrilled to stay home again. I am thinking to myself, wait... haven't I just done this? I fix scrambled eggs, bacon, scones. Are you thinking the same thing. I thought for sure I was in the movie Groundhog day and I was going to repeat the day until I got it right. Then I started thinking what it was that I had done wrong, or didn't do that would put me in the groundhog movie...

I looked outside and the car, driveway, and road were covered in ice and it was 17 degrees outside. Yep... Did that yesterday. Oh this is what it was. WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!

Tiger got outside and rolled in, yep you guessed it, dog poop! He had to have a bath and a blow dry, but not before the baby, the floor, the kids and the clothes all had dog poop on them. We had to basically sanitize the house, the kids, the bathroom, ME, and anthing I could sanitize. And if I wake up to a snow day again tomorrow..........

Snow Day

Well this says it all! 5 girls and a snow day. The baby finally fell asleep and she still feels miserable. The other girls did not sleep in. They were awake at the crack of dawn and hungry. Why is it that kids won't get up to go to school, but they are up at 4 am on snow days? I was the good mom and made scrambled eggs, bacon, and scones. Then I turned evil and made them do chores. Clean rooms, bathrooms, dishes, laundry, and fold clothes. They moaned, whined, and then worked really hard. Now they are all quietly playing in hopes that I will forget they are here so they can play all afternoon in peace. It is one big ice cube outside and freezing cold. No hopes of sending them out to play because they just slip on the sheet of ice outside. They are being good for me and Lisa told me other than the chores she hopes to spend the rest of her life here. Imagine that......and please no comments from the peanut gallery....Michala is already laughing hysterically!

The Dallas Opera

Michala went to the Dallas Opera today with the 6th grade to see Roberto Deveraux. She thought it was a great experience, but the opera was weird. She wished they could have seen 'Phantom' or 'Wicked'. She thought the hall was beautiful and Dallas fantastic. It rained all day and the bus ride (two hours one way) was miserable with all the 6th graders. Other than that she thought it was fun. She said opera is just not her thing. She said the hockey games I take her to are more fun and exciting. I guess she is my kid after all!

What a day...

Lisa is busy doing homework.
Amanda is thrilled to have no homework and is playing petshop yet again...She never tires of petshop...
Ashley kept us up all night with a fever, yucky eyes, and snotty nose. The doctor confirmed this morning that she has conjuctivitis, fever, and ear infection. The poor child feels horrible. Her eye barely opens and she is so grouchy. She is feeling a little better tonight after a few doses of antiobiotics. The prayer now is that the rest of us do not come down with the highly contagious conjuctivitis! I think I now know why women have their children in their twenties! I guess I should be happy that I have not lost one or had one break a body part. Other than being sick, we have enjoyed every minute... I must be deliriously tired!
