Pioneer travel

These are the oxen that pull a wagon used by the pioneers coming west. We were fortunate to ride in this particular wagon with our family. Notice the dimensions, about 3x6. The girls were able to be in the front of the wagon on our ride right behind the oxen...


The ride was slow, bumpy, and stinky. Notice the back end of the ox. I guess he had to go real bad, so the girls saw (and smelled), first hand the joys of traveling by ox and wagon.


Guess the smell was a little much for the city girls!

actually the wagon was 3 feet x 11 feet.
