Sidewalk Chalk

We are watching my friends girls for the whole day while she is in Oklahoma. They decided to go out and do sidewalk chalk. You know...graffiti the driveway, sidewalks, and anything else they can find like trashcans, themselves, rocks, and other things. Of course they are having a delightful time. Megan and Michala spent more time Hula-Hooping than drawing and laughing hysterically at the younger children. The little girls love them! It has been a really fun day!
This was the only time the girls would hold still for me to get a shot of them. Aren't they cute?
Lisa spent most of the afternoon on her fanny and smeared all of the chalk pictures. She insisted she did not ruin the pictures when her sister confronted her. She said that there was no evidence. What do you think? : )

My Birthday

Here are just a few things I received for my birthday. It was a fun day yesterday and my family made it extra special. My mom sent me a bagolita for my birthday. I love it of course. I took a picture of me actually using it, but then I deleted it by accident and had to retake the picture to blog it today. I must be old!
My mom also gave me a necklace that has each of my family member's name on it and my birthstone and marriage date and initials. It is fun to wear and cute.

My father-in-law sent me flowers and they are beautiful!
When I came home from work yesterday, my girls had decorated the house in curly ribbon and streamers. They had written me letters and put them out on the table. Just to make sure I knew they were mine, they had drawn my name in popsicle sticks. I would have posted the pictures of the house all decorated cute, but those pictures got accidentally deleted also. OOPS!
My favorite gifts were the letters from my girls. They were so cute. I was pleasantly surprised when I came home from work to find everything decorated and cute. Katie is coming home tomorrow for a week. Another great birthday present. Rich gave me some great outfits and other stuff I just love!! I love birthdays! Only next year I won't accidentally delete all the pictures. Thanks for making my birthday fun.

Michala's Christmas List

I have the day off work today and am home cleaning house and doing laundry. I stop for lunch and to check the e-mail and I get the cutest e-mail from Michala. Actually, it is a whole power point presentation that consists of her Christmas wish list. She has included visuals, sounds, and funny one-liners to grab my attention. At the end of the list is a disclaimer that reads: This list is subject to any change up to the first of December 2009 and will remain valid until that time. What a funny kid! She also has included things such as a guitar, with specific instructions for her daddy, that include so many hours a week spent with her playing that guitar. It was a fun e-mail to get this morning. I guess she was thinking about Christmas a lot and in her spare time at school..... she was able to e-mail me her power point. It makes me happy that she still enjoys Christmas and still humors Rich and I by writing lists (or power point presentations) and making us still create that whole feeling of believing in Santa. I love it. And I love technology. Michala has become so much more creative in her writing skills since discovering her ability to create presentations.

Cookies

The girls and I made cookies last night. We took them out of the oven and then had to run Megan to her friends house really quick. When we got home there were two cookies missing. No one was home and Michala just knew our senile dog figured out a way to get up on the oven and strategically eat just two cookies. About an hour later Rich came home and confessed he came home, ate two cookies, and then had to go back to work to pick up some paperwork he forgot to bring home. Michala and I laughed. Case of the missing cookie solved.
