Kennecott Copper Mine

We went to Kennecott Copper Mine and had a blast.  My brother Dave is pointing up to the mountain top that we had just been standing on looking down into the pit of the mine.  It was awesome.  My Grandpa Breeze worked at Kennecott for years and years.  This was a family history lesson for my kids to get to see where their great grandpa worked.

On the way down the mountain we ran over a sharp rock and got a flat tire.  The girls laughed at Uncle Dave and his ability to change a tire.  The nice woman you see in the picture had to stop and offer us her tools so that Dave could actually change the tire.  The girls will tell this story for years to come.  It was one of the highlights of the trip.  It was freezing and it took about 1 1/2 hours to change this huge tire.

This is at the top of the mountain looking down into the copper mine.  It is an amazing sight to see in person.  You cannot tell from this picture, but we are at about 9000 ft.

Here is another picture of the copper mine.

Are we having fun yet mom?

Thanks Uncle Dave for a really fun day.  It was a blast!!

yah. Never trust Dave while in the car, now that's good advice if you want to be stranded on a deserted island. :-) Love ya!
