We have a resident wolf in our family aka: Megan and so we figured we better stay at the Lodge. Here is my pack of wolves walking into their den.
Megan was thrilled with all the decor. She loved the light fixtures and wanted me to take one home and put it in her room.

For those of you who don't know what the Great Wolf Lodge is, it is a water park hotel. You never have to leave. It is like Disneyland inside. It is amazing. We had so much fun. This funny tube attached to the side of the hotel is called the Howling Tornado. It is a huge water slide that starts indoors and then goes outside into the tornado and then funnels back inside. It is one crazy slide. It almost took me out twice. Made my kids laugh.

The park sits just outside DFW and so you get the planes landing close to the hotel. There is minimum noise and you can see them from the outdoor water park. They have both indoor and outdoor waterparks at this hotel. Rich took a picture of an MD-80 landing with the wolf howling in the foreground. I thought it was a cool picture.

Here is a picture of a small portion of the indoor waterpark. It is hard to see but it was so much fun. The slides were incredible. The green and white tube in the background was named the toilet bowl because when you got inside the tube it flushed you around like a toilet until you managed to find the hole in the middle and make it down the tube to come out the other end. It was fun and crazy.

This was a bucket that held 1000 gallons of water that dumped every four minutes. My family is at the bottom getting very wet. Michala is in the blue bathing suit, Megan in black.

The second day we took a break from swimming and took the girls iceskating. This is Rich and Michala after two hours of skating. They were exhausted!

Here are the girls trying to get comfortable on the ice. They look a little wobbly to me. They kept telling me to put my camera away. They thought I was going to fall and break the camera on the ice. They forgot that I have been skating for years.

Rich spent a good portion of the time picking Michala up off the floor. We had some good laughs and she has some good bruises.

Here is Rich getting all geared up to go skating. Guess I got my pictures out of order. The girls were being very patient as dad figured out how to get his boots on his feet.

Last big hug and then it was every man (or girl) for himself! If you were hanging on to anyone you were doomed to land on your backside at some point during the morning.

You can't have a vacation without going to an airplane museum, can you? We took the girls to the CR Smith Museum (aka: American Airlines airplane museum). The girls colored an MD-80 while Rich laughed in the background wondering why his girls were acting like little kids. He thought they were past the coloring stage. Guess not....
Here is my family coming out of the DC-3 airplane. This plane is one of my favorites. It is a classic airplane and at one time was a styling plane to fly in. Notice all the bricks on the floor. We are having our family's name engraved on one of them. If you ever want to visit it will be just to the left by the DC-3's staircase. We will be known forever at the American Airlines Museum by our brick on the floor. As a side note, we also have bricks at the Phoenix Zoo. Something fun to show our grandkids someday.

Here are my children making fun of the pictures at the museum. People were staring at us like we were crazy and then I noticed after I took the picture and walked away that other people started having their children pose like mine for pictures. We started a trend this day. It was fun. PS: Check out Megans great purse. Rich took us shopping and Megan fell in love with this purse. Rich gave the ok to buy it since it is the only thing Megan liked. (She hates everything and hates to shop) I just want to add that her eyes lit up when she saw the purse and just had to have it. It was love at first sight. I am telling you this because my husband is a mans man and has no idea about fashion or brand names. He just thought it was great that Megan finally found a purse she loved!! Well.....Megan scored this day because she is now sporting a fabulously cool Michael Kors purse. We will just let Rich think it has Walmart value..... Why spoil all the fun! : )

Here is Rich showing the girls the 'cockpit'. Don't you love how they are acting all interested. He told them all about everything and they pretended to listen and then rolled their eyes when he was done as they hugged him and told him they loved him. At least they pretended to listen right?!? Does that count?

The museum puts on a great movie about airplanes and makes you feel like you are flying. This was one of our favorite parts.
Then we went back the Great Wolf Lodge and swam and rode water slides for the next two days. Even though we couldn't get on an airplane we managed to have a great three days! The only thing that would have made it better would have been to have had Katie with us. We missed her. I hope Rich has another three days off again. We had a great time!
