Yep, you guessed it. Rich, Michala, and Megan. We were just comparing size and wrinkles and took a photo for proof.

Pioneer travel

These are the oxen that pull a wagon used by the pioneers coming west. We were fortunate to ride in this particular wagon with our family. Notice the dimensions, about 3x6. The girls were able to be in the front of the wagon on our ride right behind the oxen...

The ride was slow, bumpy, and stinky. Notice the back end of the ox. I guess he had to go real bad, so the girls saw (and smelled), first hand the joys of traveling by ox and wagon.

Guess the smell was a little much for the city girls!

Vacation...

Our family went to Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, and Okalahoma! Wow!! We had so much fun together. The girls were so excited to be together again after Katie returned from BYU. There was plenty of laughter to go around during our long trip. We were able to spend time in Nauvoo and see the beautiful sights including the temple. We went to carthage and Far West and all the great church historical sights. We were most fascinated with the giant cornfields that covered two states. We had never seen corn that tall, so we stopped to take a picture. The locals laughed as they drove by and saw a van load of Texans take a picture of corn!

At Nauvoo Megan was able to live her dream of being with horses. This particular horse loved Megan! He was cracking us up because he kept eating the fence. Strange diet for a horse. Katie became a tree hugger, Michala fell and skinned her knee and Rich became graceful at walking on stilts! As for me, I have become the resident photographer.

Here is my family skipping rocks into the Mississippi river. It was beautiful to see the sunset on the Mississippi. We hope to travel more often and see this beautiful country. Next stop....New York!

Finally...

I graduated from college!
This was such a great day today. It marks another milestone in my life. It has taken me 23 years to get through college and now I can finally say I am a college graduate! It was a tough road with many tears, smiles, and support from my family. They were very supportive of me while I spent hundreds of hours studying and taking tests.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Basically, that means I can teach school and I am a certified teacher in the great state of Texas. My kids were so excited that day...Can you tell? :)

My family took me out to dinner to celebrate graduating magna cum laude. Now they have the added pressure to beat their mom's GPA!
