Rich has spent alot of time traveling about the country this month. In the few moments he had off, he put up our christmas lights with the kids. They made sure each light worked and each light was spaced just right so that when you looked at the house from the street you could see each light sparkle just so! Rich then left on his four day trip and the girls and I went shopping. When we returned later that evening we noticed that part of the lights were not working. Now remember, Rich spent several hours getting each light working perfectly. I had no idea why the lights did not work and when Rich called later that night and asked if his lights were working I had to confess that his handiwork skills were slacking. He insisted that the girls and I were playing a mean joke on him. When he came home from his trip he climbed on the ladder and inspected each light again. He was not very happy. He put all three of us girls on the naughty list for christmas this year. He grumbled and groaned up on the house for a while and then we heard the familiar yell, "CHRISTIE I NEED YOU OUTSIDE PLEASE!" By the time I got outside Rich was laughing and he had two strands of christmas lights in his hands. He showed me the lights and at the end of each icicle tip the light had been chewed completely off. The best we can figure is that a squirrel has been camped out on our roof munching our christmas lights to his hearts content. Rich managed to cap off the ends and fix the lights and then he headed back to St. Lois again for a three day trip. He had not been gone six hours and, you guessed it, the christmas lights quit working. The girls and I were back on the naughty list because he just fixed the lights. He came back and crawled back on the roof and found another strand eaten by a squirrel. He can't win. Now it is a battle between the squirrel and Rich and we will see who will win! For now, the girls and I have been moved to the nice list again! WHEW!!!!
